Oh well, that's another year gone. 2012 already, some of us have only just got used to writing 2011! Every January without fail I get a phone call from at least one person moaning loudly that the bank has returned my cheque with the wrong date on it. Oops, to be fair, they didn't notice either, but somehow it never seems a good move to point this out!

So was Christmas and New Year good ? Did you have a wonderful time relaxing in the bosom of your family, enveloped in their love, goodwill and seasonal good wishes ? Did you bo**ocks! Do pigs fly ?  You spent it in a mad rush in the kitchen, and attempting to keep the peace between your husband / wife and your mother, like the rest of us.

How to tell if yours was a good Christmas. Easy, you apply the "Threapwood Good Christmas Questionnaire"

Q1  By the end of Christmas was their blood running under the living room door ?

Q2 Did any of your family have to go to A&E over Christmas.

If the answer to both is No then your Christmas was just fine so stop moaning.

For those who didn't manage to make it along to the Quiz, I have put one of the picture rounds on the Misc Stuff page,  for all to try their luck on.

I hope that you have all signed up for the First Aid for Riders course. Have you ever thought what you would do if you were out riding with a friend, something unexpected happened and friend took a bad fall ?

I think we have all seen recently that seemingly, not very bad falls can produce some serious injuries. When faced with an injured rider and a loose horse what do you do ?

These are difficult situations, especially if help is not nearby. The presence of a large, loose and possibly injured horse, can change the First Aid priorities from those taught in a standard First Aid Course. Also the type of injuries that are likely to be encountered are not the same as those in other circumstances. So a dedicated First Aid for Riders course is to be welcomed, and hopefully supported.

A whole column and no jokes !! Has my Mojo deserted me ?
