NEW TO RIDING CLUBS ?

All about Riding clubs, Area 20, lincoln and such terms that you will frequently hear.
For those still a bit unfamiliar with how it all works. . ..

Yes, I know, once you call something a committee that puts the kiss of death on it for most people.
We have all met that ghastly sub-species of "Homo Sapiens Committee Person". Fortunately however, that
is not how our Club Committee works. MRC is different If the club is going to have any activities at all, then somebody has to do the organising, handle the cash and all the tedious stuff, so that the rest of us can prance around on our precious darlings, and crow over our rosettes. >The important thing is that the committee exists to organise the Club, for the enjoyment of its members.

The Committee members are elected at the AGM in late October, when we try to have a "three line whip". Sadly despite this we are not exactly crowded out of the meeting room, though we usually just manage a quorum! This is your chance to have your say. It doesnt matter what about, if there is a matter that you think should be raised and discussed, then come along and raise it. MRC is your club, it belongs to its members, so your voice is as important as any. What would be really good would be more newer members putting themselves forward to serve as a committee member, it is not the exclusive perogative of long-time, veteran members. If you would like to help organise things, please get involved. Even if you have only just joined the club, if there is a contribution you could make, then please join us and make it. New committee members do not have to be elected at the AGM, but can be co-opted at any time. So if this is for you, go for it.
