Dressage to Music Championships
Aintree 2011
Well here we are again with our exciting news!! Louis (Luzern) and I were thrilled to have qualified for the Riding Club Music Championships at Aintree again this year. Due to work commitments we hadn’t done as much preparation as I would have liked and having never competed at Reaseheath before, (and Louis does rather prefer seeing a venue before the big occasion) and problems with my elementary music, I felt we were rather under prepared.
But, all too quickly the day arrived and we had to make the best of it. Louis rose to the occasion superbly and although a little distracted at times, he tried his hardest not to spook! We amazingly won both the Novice with points with over 77% and the Elementary with over 76% and came home with two beautiful shields!!! Wow, off to Aintree again.
Unfortunately preparations were hampered as one of my little cats went missing for four days prior to the Champs. After a lot of searching and posters etc she appeared on Saturday night injured and so thin, but with lots of tlc she is on the mend now!! Also the Wednesday before the champs I injured my dodgy knee again, but with some treatment and still with a bit of a limp we managed to make it Aintree on the Friday night, fitting in a lesson with Sarah Probin on the way up. I must say a big Thank You to Sarah for the wonderful training and the improvement and success we have achieved under her tutoring. After some problems at home were sorted out and Anne Dawson’s support we managed to settle in.
