CHAIRMAN'S REPORT

Hello everyone.

Greetings from your chairman! Winter is now well on its way and we are all frantically clipping/rugging feeding etc. (the joys of having horses over the winter!) let's hope it won't be too hard for us this year.

We have had a varied season with Maelor and have seen a dramatic drop in numbers in both rallies and competitions, not sure where our 100 + members are! although the competition held recently at Tushingham was very well supported and was a successful day , hopefully a sign of things to come. We have also had varied success in qualifiers and championships, I was lucky enough to qualify for Lincoln in the open dressage but horse got very stressed and it was not to be on the day (report later).

We had better success at the dressage to music championships where our pairs Jinny Johnson and Gill Ratcliffe came a credible second and Karen Sinclair was well placed in both the novice and elementary music although this was marred slightly by an injury to her knee which will stop her riding for a while – hope you are now well on the mend. We also had 2 tables for the gala night and watched the quadrille selections for Olympia which was very entertaining. We have winter dressage and showjumping qualifiers coming up (dressage will have happened by the time you read this) good luck to all those competing. The Christmas show is always fun and entertaining , hopefully there will be a few of you dressing up to do the fun music section – please do come along and support the Christmas show it needs numbers to make it a success. Again I look forward to seeing members old and new in the coming months and may I take this opportunity to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Kathy Baker
